This is speaking about how God is the great IAM. He is above all and we need to keep Him first above ourselves. We serve Him not our own flesh. 
In Exodus 3:14 God reveals himself as IAM. Meaning he is eternal and self existent in nature. Jesus Later uses the phrase in regard to himself in the Gospel of John to signify that he is the Messiah.
